How I incorporated sustainability as a Marketing Manager in Food & Beverage Industry with Aliff Ajis
Hey, I’m Aliff, I’m a Marketing Manager specialising in creative campaigns for the F&B sector. I develop marketing strategies and ensure a strong creative direction across touchpoints.
In recent years, I've adopted a sustainability mindset and integrated it into my marketing efforts. My background has always revolved around visual storytelling and creative marketing within the F&B industry, where I aim to strike a balance between innovation and responsible practices.
My biggest inspiration in this sustainability journey is my wife, the co-founder and queen of Beige Social. Her unwavering passion for sustainability sparked my curiosity and encouraged me to explore ways to incorporate more eco-conscious practices into my work. Over time, I became genuinely invested in the cause.
Getting into sustainability and incorporating it into my work was a gradual and thoughtful journey. Initially, I was sceptical, partly due to the number of people who remain doubtful about the effects of climate change. However, as I educated myself and connected with like-minded individuals, my perspective evolved.

But it’s not without hardships. One of the most significant challenges has been my limited knowledge of sustainable practices, which I’m still building everyday. Another constant struggle is finding a balance between keeping costs manageable and adopting greener solutions. It requires creative problem-solving and a willingness to embrace gradual progress.
But now that I'm learning to practice sustainability more, I'm most grateful for my renewed understanding of mental health and its importance in the workplace.
Living in Singapore, where many of us are driven by the pursuit of wealth, we often neglect our mental well-being. Sustainability has taught me to value care for not only the environment but also ourselves, which includes maintaining mental and emotional balance.
If you want to be more sustainable in your career, the journey won’t be easy—at least not at this stage. However, the more you are willing to understand, learn, and contribute, the smoother the path will become for yourself and for future generations. Embrace curiosity, be adaptable, and never underestimate the power of small steps in making a meaningful impact.
