Graduate Fellowship Programme, Philippines

Allowance: PHP 16,000 per month (Inclusive of food, transport and communication allowance)

Contract: 16-week fixed term part-time contract, 16–20 hours per week. This fellowship is not a full-time role. Ideal candidates will be able to commit for the consecutive period of 2 March 2026 to 26 June 2026 There is a possible 2-month extension, subject to performance and project needs

Location: Metro Manila, Philippines, with the possibility of remote work within the Philippines. This is a hybrid role with periodic in-person meet-ups with the Forum Philippines team, depending on needs for priority internal and external meetings.

About the Fellowship Programme

Forum for the Future is seeking two (2) Graduate Fellows to join its Philippines team and contribute to shaping just and regenerative energy transitions.

The Graduate Fellowship Program (Manila Hub) supports Forum’s growing work in the Philippines under the Responsible Energy Initiative – Philippines (REI-PH) and related projects on circular energy systems, critical minerals, and AI for just energy transitions.

This fellowship is designed for graduate-level candidates and early-career professionals who want hands-on experience in real-world sustainability and energy transition projects, working alongside practitioners influencing policy, industry practice, and multi-stakeholder action in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Why this fellowship is different

You will work on ongoing, policy-relevant projects, not simulations or purely academic exercises

You will contribute to a national flagship initiative (REI-Philippines) shaping norms and practices in renewable energy
You will be exposed to systems change and futures thinking, not just technical or desk-based analysis

You will be mentored by senior practitioners working across policy, industry, and civil society.

What you will work on

Depending on project needs and your background, you will contribute to:

Research and analysis related to energy transitions, circularity, and just transition issues
Data gathering, synthesis, and visualisation
Stakeholder mapping and background research
Support for workshops, consultations, and futures-oriented activities
Drafting internal briefs, research notes, or communication materials

This is a research- and analysis-oriented fellowship, suited for candidates comfortable working semi-autonomously with guidance through regular check-ins.

Expected outputs

1–2 short research or issue briefs
A stakeholder or systems map supporting an REI-PH workstream
Contribution to at least one workshop, consultation, or public-facing output
A short learning reflection or presentation at the end of the fellowship

Who we are looking for

We are particularly interested in candidates who are:

Current Master’s or PhD students, or recent holders of a graduate degree in sustainability, energy, engineering, economics, public policy, environmental science, data/AI, or related disciplines
Able to demonstrate strong analytical and research skills
Motivated by public-interest impact and systems-level change
Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving problem statements
Skilled at managing time independently and meeting agreed deliverables
Strong in communicating clearly, both in writing and in professional settings

This fellowship is not open to undergraduate students. Applications from undergraduate candidates will not be considered.

Applicants with strengths in (a) research and policy analysis or (b) data, systems mapping, and visualisation are especially encouraged to apply.
