More about the project

Who we are

Plana (Plastic for Nature) started with a simple realization: we love nature, but the materials we build with are destroying it. So we spent years developing a way to turn two of Indonesia's biggest waste problems : plastic and rice husks into something useful and long-lasting.

The result is Plana Wood, a wood alternative made from recycled plastic and rice husks that is termite-proof, weather-resistant, and stronger than conventional wood composites. Every product we make means fewer trees cut down, less plastic in our rivers and oceans, and extra income for local farmers and waste collectors.

In the past two years alone, our work has recycled over 82 tons of plastic waste and saved the equivalent of more than 60,000 trees.

How we work

We are a small team with a big mission, and our culture is built on five values: speak up more, everyone is equal, ownership mindset, always improve, and honest & transparent. In practice, this means your ideas are heard no matter your title, you own your work from start to finish, and we tell each other the truth, including when things don't go well.

If you want your daily work to have a direct, measurable impact on the environment and the communities around you, we'd love to meet you.
