Job Description

  • Position Overview

The Project Manager will lead and coordinate consultancy assignments for renewable energy projects covering solar, wind, and hybrid systems, from pre-development through financial close, construction monitoring (desk-based), commissioning, COD, and O&M advisory. The role focuses on managing project delivery, client engagement, multidisciplinary teams, and technical/ commercial workstreams. The Project Manager ensures high-quality outputs aligned with AFRY methodologies, client expectations, and international best practices.

  • Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Coordination

  • Lead and manage consultancy assignments across all project phases (pre-development, feasibility, design review, procurement, construction monitoring, commissioning, COD, and early O&M).
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, communication protocols, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate AFRY’s internal experts (engineering, environmental, grid, business development).
  • Ensure timely delivery of all project milestones, reports, and technical assessments.
  • Manage project budgets, manpower forecasts, resource allocation, and invoicing progress.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as primary point of contact for developers, lenders, EPCs, OEMs.
  • Facilitate technical–commercial discussions, progress meetings, and clarification workshops.
  • Present AFRY’s findings, risks, recommendations, and due-diligence outcomes to clients.
  • Support business development through proposals, bids, scope definition, and client relationship management.

Technical Oversight (Desk-Based)

  • Review project documentation such as feasibility studies, design packages, permits, EPC and O&M contracts, specifications, compliance matrices, and risk registers.
  • Oversee AFRY’s design review comments, technical due diligence findings, EPC/ OEM assessments, and construction progress evaluations.
  • Track construction progress using contractor reports, schedules, QA/QC documentation.
  • Assess readiness for commissioning, COD, performance testing, and operational transitions.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management

  • Ensure AFRY’s deliverables follow internal governance, technical standards, and industry good practice.
  • Identify project risks related to schedule, design, procurement, interfaces, regulatory compliance, and financing; develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support internal audits, consistency checks, and peer reviews on technical deliverables.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and review LTA reports, technical due diligence reports, progress certificates, memos, and project correspondence.
  • Summarize complex technical findings into clear, concise, and professional narrative for clients.
  • Maintain traceable project documentation, decisions, and communication records.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Renewable Energy, or related field).
  • Post-graduate degree or PMP certification is an advantage.

Professional Experience

  • 5–10+ years of project management experience in the energy sector, preferably renewable energy (solar PV, wind, BESS, hybrid systems).
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple project stages:
  • Pre-development and feasibility
  • Permitting and regulatory workstreams
  • Conceptual and detailed design review
  • Procurement, EPC contracting, and tender support
  • Construction monitoring
  • Commissioning, performance testing, and COD
  • O&M advisory
  • Experience engaging with IPPs, lenders, EPCs, OEMs, and external stakeholders.
  • Background in technical due diligence or LTA roles is highly desirable.
