Company Description

In line with our increasing business, AFRY is looking for a Senior Technical Consultant for our gas, LNG and hydrogen-fired power plant projects, biomass power projects, waste to energy projects, various hybrid power plant projects as well as carbon capture installations.

We are looking for a person with 7-20 years work experience from power utilities, independent power producers, equipment suppliers, consultancy or engineering companies.

Job Description

Your scope of work will include the following:  

  • Preparation of power plant conceptual design studies, feasibility studies,  lenders engineer and independent engineer projects,  and technical due diligence assessments for acquisition of power plants
  • Participation in EPC tendering projects, negotiations with EPC contractors, IPP bidding projects, PPA negotiations and power project development in general
  • Participation in various other technical consulting assignments in relation to power plant projects
  • Preparation of reports for the clients as required and coordinating the internal report preparation process
  • For interested candidates, proposal preparation can be included in the scope of work
  • For interested candidates, owner’s engineer construction projects and design review can be included in the scope of work
  • For suitable candidates, there is also possibility to expand the role to include renewable energy, green hydrogen and ammonia production and use in power plants

Much of the work involves writing reports in English language, so very good English language skill is a must. The position is located in Jakarta, Indonesia. The job includes projects throughout the South-East Asia region and occasional trips to other SEA countries, so willingness to travel on short-term assignments is expected.

Qualifications

The qualifications and requirements for the position are:

Professional:

  • Higher professional degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, energy economics, or other field relevant for power sector projects (M.Sc. or B.Sc.)
  • Minimum of seven years professional experience from power sector
  • Fluent in English
  • Good skills in report writing
  • Good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs
