Description of the mission

We are now seeking a highly organised individual for the role of Social Media and Content Specialist. The role will report to the Director, Communications. The role focuses primarily on social media management, with additional responsibilities in content development and coordination. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day digital activity, coordinate with our social media agency partner, and ensure projects are delivered on time. The role requires strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, workstreams, and stakeholders simultaneously.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • In coordination with our social media agency partner:

a) Manage day-to-day social media activity across key platforms, including planning, scheduling, and publishing content.

b) Maintain and manage social media and content calendars, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.

c) Develop and draft social media posts and other short-form digital content.

d) Brief the agency on content requirements, review deliverables, and ensure alignment with communications priorities.

  • Monitor social media performance and prepare analytics reports to support optimisation and planning.
  • Work across business functions to gather information, updates, and insights required to develop accurate and engaging content.
  • Coordinate the production of thought leadership content with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Work with external vendors to support the maintenance and ongoing development of the corporate website, including coordinating content updates and new design or functionality requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, tracking timelines, approvals, and deliverables across teams and partners.

Profile

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in social media, digital communications, or content marketing.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams.
  • Experience working with external social media or creative agencies.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for social media and digital platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Information gathering and interpreting: The ability to take on board and understand reams of new information is a critical skill required. The specialist must keep abreast of ever-changing developments in the external environment. The candidate is also required to stay up-to-date with waste management and plastics industry trends.
