About the Organization

Animal Empathy Philippines (AEP) is a non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing farmed animal welfare in the Philippines through research, advocacy, capacity building, and movement building. We work with diverse stakeholders to promote evidence-based and sustainable solutions that improve the lives of farmed animals.

As the Program Officer for the Changemakers Academy, you will play a key role in equipping aspiring advocates and emerging leaders with the knowledge, skills, and strategic thinking needed to advance farmed animal welfare across various industries and communities. You will help design and implement learning experiences that empower participants to become effective changemakers for animals.

AEP operates on a hybrid work setup, with approximately 80% remote work and 20% on-site engagements. On-site work typically includes field visits, stakeholder meetings, conferences, events, and team gatherings. Some activities may require domestic travel, which is usually planned well in advance.

Work setup, compensation & benefits

  • Duration of engagement: This position is offered under a one-year contract, subject to renewal based on organizational needs, and performance. Upon completion of the initial contract period, individuals who demonstrate strong performance, alignment with AEP's values and culture, and the ability to take on significant responsibilities may be considered for a regular position. Particular consideration will be given to those who consistently meet a high standard of work and make meaningful contributions to the organization's mission and growth.
  • Benefits: flexible schedule, hybrid work setup, opportunity to attend workshops and trainings, occasional field work and HMO (100k MBL) upon onboarding and until the end of the contract
  • AEP’s office hours: 9am - 6pm
  • Commitment: 40 hours per week
  • Compensation: Php 40,000 monthlysubject to withholding tax

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related disciplines
  • At least 3 years experience in program coordination, development work, or community engagement
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience coordinating activities with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

If you enjoy working with diverse groups of people, coordinating multiple activities, and supporting learning and leadership development, this role may be a great fit for you.

Candidates with a background or strong interest in animal welfare, advocacy, community engagement, leadership development, or social impact are highly encouraged to apply. Experience in facilitating workshops, managing training programs, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes will be considered strong assets.
