About the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD)

The ACSDSD was established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand, in partnership with ASEAN Member States. We aim to facilitate research, policy dialogue, and knowledge exchange on sustainable development challenges and opportunities in Southeast Asia. Through our work, we strive to inform policy, empower stakeholders, and advance the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the ASEAN Complementarities initiative in the ASEAN region.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing the Centre’s communication plans that aligned with ACSDSD's objectives and research priorities.
  • Writing and distributing communications materials and engaging in informative content for various platforms, including website, social media, newsletters, reports, and press releases.
  • Managing digital and online presence, including website optimization, social media strategy, and online engagement campaigns.
  • Organizing and managing outreach and publicity activities, including media relations, event promotion, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Identifying and develop stories and messages that highlight the Centre’s research findings and impact on sustainable development in ASEAN.
  • Serving as the Centre’s point of contact with the media and monitoring media coverage and public perception of the ACSDSD and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaising with researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and dissemination of knowledge.
  • Staying up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in strategic communications, particularly in the context of sustainable development.

Profile

Qualifications

  • Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic communications, preferably within a non-profit or development organization.
  • Appreciation of the ASEAN region, sustainable development issues, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and fluency in at least one additional ASEAN language preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement communication plans, create compelling content, and managing online platforms.
  • Experience in media relations, event promotion, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
  • Strategic thinking, creativity, and attention to detail are essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
