1. Position Overview

As Associate for Finance and Sustainable Finance Policy at Asia Engine For Net Zero (AENZ), you will be integral to supporting research and project management activities across the two of the organization’s strategic pillars: Fund Mobilization and Implementing Sustainable Finance Policies. This role is designed for a candidate eager to develop his/her/their expertise in sustainable finance in an emerging country context.

2. Key Responsibilities

Research and Analysis

  • Conducting research and analysis on topics related to sustainable finance
  • Stay informed about developments in the Sustainable Finance sector, particularly in Southeast Asian countries.
  • Support the development of financial models to evaluate the feasibility and impact of climate and energy initiatives.

Project Support

  • Aid in the management of projects such as the Finance Innovation Lab and the Training Program on Green Finance.
  • Help build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in financial institutions, including banks, investors, regulators, and nonprofits.

Communication and Outreach

  • Assist in outreach efforts to engage stakeholders in the finance sector, including participation in meetings and workshops.
  • Support the creation of presentation materials and articles to disseminate research findings and promote AENZ’s thought leadership in sustainable finance.

3. Reporting

The Associate for Finance and Sustainable Finance will report directly to the AENZ’s Founding Director or Executive Director as may be most appropriate.

4. Location

This position offers a hybrid work setup with flexibility in office attendance.

Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in research, financial analysis, or sustainable finance (including internships).
  • Experience in banking, sustainable finance, renewable energy, or environmental policy is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of financial modeling and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and writing skills for drafting policies, reports, and presentations.
  • Analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends.
  • Research abilities, including data gathering and analysis.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with diverse groups.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
