AVPN is looking for a Manager, Partnerships to support the partnerships team in identifying partnerships and funding opportunities. The partnerships team is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing the grants and sponsorships that support AVPN in delivering on its mission to deliver Capital for Impact. Partnerships focuses on maximising funding potential across the key revenue streams of grants, sponsorships, and earned income by building on the existing partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management, programme and markets teams to align our internal goals with new and existing partner relationships
  • Identify and develop qualified funding leads with innovative and creative proposals that include grants, sponsorship, service fees, etc.
  • Write and review funding proposals and concept notes to engage funder interest and convert to grant, sponsorship or revenue streams.
  • Negotiatie and finalise funder and sponsor requirements and agreements, with the support of AVPN team.
  • Support the grant management process and delivery of grant monitoring information and reporting by the team.
  • Develop funder relationships to increase the strength of AVPN’s value proposition over time, leading to an increase in duration and quantum of funding.
Profile

Requirements

  • 4-6 years experience in a regional partnership, fundraising, or business development role.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in non-profit or social investment organisations.
  • You are able to build relationships quickly and inspire those around you.
  • You are a concise, compelling writer and an effective verbal communicator.
  • You have strong presentation skills with excellent design and conceptual abilities.
  • You are comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with competing priorities
  • You are a self-starter who is able to meet deadlines and independently follow through on all assigned responsibilities. You navigate prioritizing your work effectively while managing multiple projects so that nothing falls through the cracks.
  • You pay attention to minute details of projects and tasks to ensure excellence.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and manage team resources to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to coach and support the professional development of associates.
  • Able to collaborate vertically and laterally with leadership, colleagues, and clients.
  • You have a strong interest in and passion for philanthropy and social investment.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
