BACKGROUND
Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization based in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Our core mission is to provide access to education, health, and social services to the most vulnerable children and their families living in urban slums and construction site camps in Thailand.
Over the last 10 years, through grassroots work originating in Chiang Mai, Baan Dek Foundation has established key partnerships with construction companies and real estate developers to create a sustainable impact in construction site camps, improving the lives and access to basic services of construction workers and their children. Through the Building Social Impact Initiative (BSI), BDF seeks to improve the practices of construction companies toward workers and their children living in camps. To that end, BDF proposes to companies that are members of the BSI Initiative a Framework for action, practical tools, and training. Companies following our training path improve the conditions of workers and their families while simultaneously enhancing their social sustainability, aligning with national and international standards and main sustainability frameworks.
POSITION SUMMARY
Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for a Project Officer to join the BSI team, and will be responsible for overall implementation and administration of BSI.

The main responsibilities of the Employee and will include, but are not restricted to the following:

1. Program Implementation & Operations Support
- Support day-to-day corporate communication by drafting initial correspondence, coordinating meeting requests, and managing calendar invites for company staff.
- Provide vital logistical and coordination support for planning, organizing, and facilitating meetings, workshops, and training sessions with key BDF stakeholders, local partners, and private sector government agencies, etc.
- Coordinate and support project activities funded by Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF.), as well as other projects including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and facilitating communication between BDF and THPF.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues to distribute engagement tools and provide coordination support to the BSI team during the public launch of the BSI initiative.
- Support in translating documents (Thai / English, English / Thai) according to requests from the management team.
2. Project Administrative Support
- Support in organizing the documentation and information related to the activity of the Foundation, such as drafting and preparing clear meeting minutes, compiling project progress data, presentations, and organizing Foundation activity archives.
- Support in coordinating travel arrangements with project participants and stakeholders, and logistical arrangements for BSI related events..
- Prepare the activity and purchase requests related to program activities and coordinate with the finance and admin teams.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems for all THPF-related documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Support the Management Team in day-to-day missions and projects. The employee shall observe the organization’s values and objectives and will commit to facilitate all procedures and field activities to ensure the sound management of Baan Dek Foundation’s programs.
COMPLEMENTARY SUPPORT:
As a member of the Baan Dek Foundation team, the Employee is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the programs/tasks implemented are of good quality, and are relevant to the mission and vision of the foundation
- Respecting commitments with donors and embracing the overall vision of the Foundation and its humanitarian commitment.
- Promoting a constructive and productive working environment among the team. Actively supporting information sharing, transparency and dialogue among the staff and with beneficiaries of all projects.
- Supporting the management team in the development of requested communication, financial, activities, etc.
- Facilitating communication between the local team, beneficiaries, external stakeholders (local partners, schools, governmental organizations, foundations, etc.), and the management team.
- Assisting representation of Baan Dek Foundation upon request by welcoming, presenting Baan Dek programs and activities to visiting partners and sponsors as well as liaising with external stakeholders when requested.
- Supporting the management team in day-to-day missions and projects.
