Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development

  • Refine the current curriculum for implementing:

  • Education and Technology (EdTech) for Grade 1 students using devices and app-based learning; Remedial Literacy and Numeracy for Grade 1 to Grade 3;

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Humanities (STEAM-H) for Grades 4, 5 and 6 in conjunction with the STEAM-H partners;

  • English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for Grades 4, 5 and 6 with expansion to include grades 1 -3;

  • Early Childhood Development (ECD).

  • Youth empowerment modules including BCF English Club for Year 12 students.

  • Develop modules for use in Hospitality Ready, Uni Ready and Work Ready training classes for Year 12 graduate students.

  • Curriculum development (aligned to Merdeka Belajar for EFL and EdTech) includes standard operating procedures, syllabus development, audio/visual and animated modules, standardized lesson plans, recommended education applications, and assessment tools, development of testing plans and documents, based on program monitoring and evaluation findings, data findings, and field observations of curricula in use.

  • Research the new regulation about Grade 3 EFL and develop the required curriculum, with possible expansion to EFL for Grades 1 and 2.

  • Develop additional curricula in addition to the existing curriculum in response to the needs of children and aligned with Merdeka Belajar or subsequent Indonesian curricula.

Teacher Training

  • Develop and facilitate quarterly teacher training booster for teacher facilitators and teachers to improve their teaching strategies and methodologies using active learning strategies and student-centred learning.
  • Conduct monthly monitoring and evaluation and classroom observation activities with teacher facilitators and teachers online, off-site and in person, capturing the lessons learned, best practices, challenges on teachers and students during program implementation.
  • Review teachers’ weekly and monthly lesson plans and provide feedback for teachers' weekly and monthly lesson plans and teaching for teaching improvement.
  • Maintain daily and weekly coordination and communication with teacher facilitators and teachers.
  • Collect and analyse all data, including pre-test, weekly test (for EdTech only), progress test, post-test, student enrolment data, teacher, and school data from teacher facilitators and teachers for implementation evidence of all education programs – in conjunction with Data Lead, Program Implementation Lead, and Education Lead.
  • Maintain documentation and reports of education programs, including Evidence and Implementation (E&I) reports, data spreadsheets, and presentation slides.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly updates and reports of all education programs, discussing strategies, challenges, and good practices.

Others

  • Provide necessary curriculum information for fundraising purposes.
  • Travel to the field to support Education, Youth, and Fundraising/Communications departments, as necessary.
  • The job description relates to BCF education plans for 2025. As BCF moves to its next four-year planning to 2028 and designs Move East projects, job descriptions for all team members will be adjusted to ensure maximum benefits for Indonesian children’s education.
Profile

Qualifications And Skills

  • Experience min 3 years in a relevant role.
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development on Literacy and Numeracy, EFL, STEAM-H,

EdTech, ECD, and Youth in diverse educational and youth settings

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and regulations, particularly in Indonesia.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail, excellent memory, and exceptional organisational skills.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for our mission of helping children and promoting education.
  • Residing in Bali and Indonesian nationality.
