OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

This role aims to support the communications and outreach for YSEALI Summit Philippines 2027, from content production and channel management to participant recruitment and partner visibility, to enable Biji-biji to achieve its mission of empowering all individuals to realize their potential through education and innovation.By taking up this role, you have the opportunity to use your skills to create tangible impact in the lives of learners, communities, and program partners.The ideal candidate is one who desires to create a culture that is anchored on Biji-biji’s core values, has deep care for clear storytelling and brand consistency, and someone who seeks to continuously improve systems, processes and approaches.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development and execution of communications plans that promote the program across the ASEAN region.
  • Help maintain and update the content calendar, including social posts, newsletters, blogs, and participant stories, ensuring content is produced and published on schedule.
  • Write and edit copy for social media, newsletters, website updates, and programme collateral, adjusting tone and format for different audiences and platforms.
  • Support the management of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, and assist in scheduling posts to increase engagement and brand awareness.
  • Assist in compiling impact stories, participant interviews, and case studies for reports, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
  • Develop and prepare outreach materials such as programme brochures, digital flyers, and promotional visuals, collaborating with designers, videographers, and content creators where required.
  • Support participant recruitment for programmes through digital channels, partner networks, and alumni groups, and track enquiries through to enrolment.
  • Support visibility for partners, sponsors, and funders, ensuring programme communications meet their branding, acknowledgement, and reporting requirements.
  • Track content and campaign performance, and prepare regular summaries of reach, engagement, and recruitment outcomes for the team.
  • Assist in planning and executing virtual and in-person events, including webinars, info sessions, and programme showcases.
  • Ensure all communications are aligned with Biji-biji’s brand guidelines and tone of voice, flagging inconsistencies for review.
  • Undertake other ad hoc tasks as required to advance organizational objectives.

Profile

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of paid working experience in communications, marketing, content production, or community engagement; directly transferable experience from an adjacent field will be considered.
  • Excellent written and verbal English, with a proven ability to write and edit publication-ready copy for social media, newsletters, and web, and to adjust tone for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience producing and scheduling content across major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, supported by a portfolio of published work.
  • Experience supporting participant recruitment, community engagement, or audience growth, including tracking enquiries and conversions through to a measurable outcome.
  • Ability to draw stories out of programme teams and turn them into participant spotlights, case studies, and impact narratives.
  • Comfortable tracking content and campaign metrics and compiling them into clear, regular reports.
  • Working proficiency in Canva or equivalent design tools is an advantage, and basic photo or video editing skills will be considered a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently while adhering to internal SOPs and brand guidelines.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with programme, operations, and design teams, and receptive to feedback and revision on creative work.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a consistently positive and solutions-driven attitude when engaging with stakeholders, partners, and participants.
  • High level of independence, responsibility, and initiative, with the ability to perform effectively in a remote-first, fast-paced, high-performing team environment.
  • Able to maintain a working-hours overlap with the team in Malaysia (GMT+8), and willing to travel occasionally to programme sites in the region for specific events, with travel costs covered.
