Job Summary

The Senior Program Coordinator will lead and manage its direct implementation team based in Zamboanga del Norte. This role combines strategic program coordination with hands-on team leadership to ensure the effective delivery of child and youth-focused development programs in the region. The postholder will play a critical role in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating program activities, while also fostering strong partnerships with local stakeholders and ensuring alignment with ChildFund’s mission and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program and Sponsorship Coordination and Management
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of ChildFund’s programs in Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga City
  • Ensure program activities are aligned with organizational goals, donor requirements, and community needs.
  • Oversee budget planning and expenditure tracking for assigned programs.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and quality compliance with sponsorship requirements and guidelines.
  • Support project ideation, concept note and funding proposal development.
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of field staff and technical specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and capacity-building activities.
  • Ensure staff compliance with organizational policies and safeguarding standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local government units, community leaders, civil society organizations, and other partners.
  • Represent ChildFund in local coordination meetings, forums, and advocacy events.
  • Facilitate community participation and feedback mechanisms to ensure program relevance and sustainability.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
  • Support the design and implementation of MEL frameworks and tools.
  • Ensure timely data collection, analysis, and use for program improvement.
  • Document and share lessons learned and best practices.

➔ Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program management, preferably in child-focused or community development organizations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of child protection, education, health, and/or livelihoods programming.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English and Filipino; knowledge of local dialects in Zamboanga del Norte is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the province and work in remote areas.
