Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for the strategic impact of philanthropic funding. It requires a deep understanding of how to design and create impactful philanthropic initiatives which catalyze caring and thriving communities. By strategically engaging charities in Singapore and creating philanthropic opportunities, this role enables the fulfilment of our donors’ philanthropic purpose.
This role is also responsible for innovative approaches to the creation and curation of quality initiatives, including conducting due diligence on the initiatives and partners. In addition, supervising a team of seven, this role is also responsible for charity partnerships, programme sourcing, process improvements, grantmaking risk management, as well as charity and programme evaluation, grant tracking, monitoring and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
Donor Grantmaking
- Design, create and curate appealing initiatives that generate impact in Singapore’s diverse communities.
- Develop a knowledge hub that provides philanthropic insights and market-ready programmes from across Singapore’s charitable landscape.
- Customize philanthropy portfolios for key donor accounts.
- Work with Partnerships & Advisory and Communications & Marketing teams to design and organize educational opportunities (e.g. learning journeys, campaigns) for donors to learn more about non-profits and the charitable landscape in Singapore.
Charity Engagement and Grantmaking
- Develop philanthropic initiatives that resonate with donors by identifying gaps and needs in the philanthropic landscape and create or curate programmes that promote giving from donor funds. This includes research on community needs and gaps, philanthropic trends and performing due diligence on charities and programme evaluation.
- Partner charities to develop innovative programmes for major gifts.
- Develop strategies that lead to increased grants from donors and increase impact in meeting community needs. Oversees the grant administration systems and processes, and KPI tracking and reporting. Ensure that all grants are properly documented and that an efficient tracking system is maintained for current donors and grantees. Manage risks in grant making and ensure grants are well accounted for and achieve its intended purpose.
- Lead the reviews and evaluation of CFS’ philanthropic initiatives and programmes to align donors’ needs with community impact.
- May be required to represent the organization in public forums on CFS’ work in the charity landscape.
Community Impact Funds Management
- Design and deliver community impact funds and collective giving initiatives in a variety of philanthropic domains. This includes conducting research to determine community gaps and needs, developing and implementing strategies, action plans and initiatives to promote effective philanthropy in Singapore to address gaps and needs.
- Develop partnerships and strategies to fundraise for community impact funds.
