➔ Description of the mission

Position Overview: We are seeking a Project Officer for the Youth Corner in Mae Sot. This position will be responsible for the daily youth project activites, improvement of the youth friendly services, coordination and collaboration with government departments and other organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily activities and operations, including providing information to youths and facilitating training sessions.
  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of all resources and equipment at the youth corner, including the library.
  • Arrange the logistics for all training sessions, including scheduling, preparing the space and equipment, and communicating with instructors.
  • Organize and manage special events, such as International Youth Day and Thailand's National Youth Day, to promote engagement and community.
  • Liaise with the government, local authority, organizations, and community for the project related matters
  • Act as a key representative for the organization and its projects when communicating with government departments, partner organizations, and external stakeholders.
  • Welcome and host visitors and donors, providing them with a positive and informative experience.
  • Review and verify all Thai-language materials, including signboards, pamphlets, project catalogs, library resources, and official correspondence, to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and service providers to manage the library, which includes maintaining a book record system, conducting regular inventory checks, and fostering a youth-friendly space.
  • Address and assist with security concerns to ensure the safety of all youths participating in activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

➔ Profile

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • A minimum of two years of professional experience working with non-profit organizations or on youth-related projects.
  • Must be a Thai national or hold a valid Thai ID. Fluency in the Thai language is essential, encompassing all four skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. English proficiency is also required for communication and reporting.
  • Proven experience in training facilitation, with a particular focus on youth audiences.
  • A strong understanding of the humanitarian context in Myanmar, including border affairs and conflict-affected areas, is necessary.
  • Experience in communicating and collaborating with government departments and other external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in training delivery, project implementation, and effective teamwork.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other digital tools relevant to training and project management.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse range of people without any form of discrimination.
