About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Youth Specialist to join our frontline team in supporting youth development initiatives in vulnerable communities along the Thai-Myanmar border. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who is deeply invested in youth ministry and discipleship, and who thrives in creating holistic youth engagement activities tailored to local needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing the youth strategy for the Thai-Myanmar Border project.
  • Facilitate youth development activities that focus on leadership, discipleship, life skills, and community service.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of youth-focused interventions; recommend adjustments based on needs.
  • Collaborate with local church partners to ensure youth initiatives are relevant and contextually appropriate.
  • Support youth participation in addressing social issues (e.g., social justice, inclusion, empowerment).
  • Contribute to identifying the wholistic needs of young people in the Thai-Myanmar border context.
Profile

What We’re Looking For:

  • Demonstrated passion for youth ministry (e.g., mentoring, organizing youth activities, discipleship).
  • Understanding of youth development in theThai-Myanmar border context.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with churches and community organizations.
  • Soft skills: Facilitation, active listening, creativity, and tech-savviness.
  • Openness to learning and growing into a Specialist II role.
  • Preferred: Experience in Karen communities or knowledge of Karen language.
