The Program Delivery and Carbon Lead is responsible for supporting program delivery across all of CI Cambodia’s target landscapes by engaging, leading, coordinating, and supporting program and thematic managers while also providing technical leadership on REDD+ and emerging carbon concepts for the country office.
This position combines strategic oversight of multi-landscape program delivery with a dualfocus on advancing CI Cambodia’s understanding, design, and implementation of NbS carbon-related initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Oversight and Delivery
- Support, and in some cases manage, programmatic and thematic managers in the implementation of program delivery across all four of CI target landscapes ensuring integration of strategies and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Oversee and strengthen project planning, execution, and reporting to ensure timely, cost-effective, and impactful delivery of program outcomes.
- Team Leadership and Supervision
- Directly manage Program Managers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support.
- Provide technical and strategic support to the Thematic Managers working across cross-cutting conservation areas.
- Facilitate and guide coordination between thematic and program managers, and to a lesser extent other CI teams.
- Technical Support in Social and Environmental Dimensions of Conservation
- Ensure that social principles and safeguards are embedded across all program activities and that landscape and thematic teams are equipped to engage effectively and ethically with local communities.
- Provide environmental inputs and guidance on technical conservation themes including many aspects of Protected Area management.
- Carbon Technical Leadership
- Serve as senior technical advisor on REDD+ and forest carbon across CI Cambodia
- Lead and review REDD+ and carbon concept development across programs
- Provide oversight of PDDs, methodologies, and standards compliance (VCS, CCB, JCM, Art.6)
- Engage with carbon and NCS teams across CI to develop opportunities for CI Cambodia in carbon markets.
- Stay up-to-date with detailed carbon market and compliance information and act as a one-stop shop for carbon information for the Cambodia teams.
- Capacity Building in Management and Leadership
- Strengthen the management and leadership capabilities of Program and Thematic Managers through mentorship, coaching, and targeted capacity development.
- Support staff in strategic thinking, planning, team coordination, and adaptive leadership to enhance overall program effectiveness and team performance.
- Partnerships and Collaboration
- Foster strong collaboration across internal teams, including CI HQ, and to a lesser extent external stakeholders.
- Build partnerships that support strategic goals and enhance program delivery at local, national, and international levels.
- Exercise political and social acumen to sensitively manage and engage a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues.

- Advocate for program needs and priorities within the organization and with key partners.
