➔ Description of the mission

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the steering committee of the DPA-led Extractive Industry Social and Environmental (EISEI) network to facilitate the national-level EISEI network.
  • Coordinating with members of the EISEI network, partners, as well as other like-minded NGO networks and community focal persons for collecting data or inputs for organizing indoor campaigns, multi-stakeholder dialogues, and policy dialogues regarding the social and environmental impacts of mineral exploration and mining operations, as well as natural resource management related issues.
  • Facilitating the evidence collection and case documentation for advocacy initiatives aimed at addressing the concerns of grassroots civil society and community members.
  • Building the capacity of community focal persons and staff members of partners.
  • Monitoring the emerging natural resource related issues and facilitate the multi-stakeholder dialogue addressing the emerging issues.
  • Establishing and strengthening relationships with civil society groups, media outlets, concerned government institutions, private sectors, and communities.

➔ Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in natural resource management, environmental management, and/or public administration and policy;

Work History:

  • At least experiences in engaging in advocacy, natural resources management, digital communication, indigenous people rights, capacity building and environmental policy and safeguarding for 3 years

Skills & Knowledge:

General & Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of issues related to social and environmental impact of extractive industry activities; and agribusiness, environmental impact assessment, Free Prior and Informed Consent, Corporate Social Responsible, and Business and Human Rights are the assets and preferable
  • EU grant experience preferred
  • Proven ability to network and develop positive inter-organisational relationships and with government stakeholders;
  • Sound computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Good at report writing;

Soft Skills

  • High level inter-personal and communication skills;
  • High proficiency in English.
