Description of the mission

Position Summary

This position is based in Phnom Penh and frequently travels to the target provinces.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce annual reviews and other Information, Education, and Communication materials.
  • Coordinate with the project team and DPA advocacy team to gather and document information related to cashew nut advocacy work.
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with relevant government ministries, NGOs, and private sectors in the target provinces related to the cashew nut value chain.
  • Participate in events and networks related to advocacy in the cashew nut value chain and other agricultural commodities.
  • Design and lead market assessments with the project team, developing business strategies to meet current demands for producer groups and ACs.
  • Connect producer groups and ACs with Cashew Nut Private Sectors for marketing their products and contract farming.
  • Support the project team in organizing roundtables, workshops, and conferences related to the cashew nut commodity.
  • Facilitate capacity development assessments and support the development of financial, gender, and other relevant policies and procedures, as well as cashew nut value chain development as needed by ACs.
  • Ensure effective and efficient management of the program and its activities by providing overall guidance to the team on planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to the project, provide feedback for improvement, and ensure milestones and targets in the Logframe are met.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, including due diligence, governance, and safeguarding.
  • Prepare annual operational plans and budgets, and write progress reports with the program staff.
  • Establish and maintain external collaborations with other NGOs, government departments, and the private sector.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, agribusiness, climate change, disaster management, or related fields.

Work History:

  • NGO experience, particularly in integrated community development for 5 years as a minimum

Skills & Knowledge:

General & Technical Skills

  • Proficient in English and Khmer with strong writing skills in Public Relations/Communication.
  • Skilled in Photoshop, PageMaker, Publisher, MS Word, MS Excel, and internet use.
  • Excellent negotiation and representation abilities.
  • Experience in cashew nut value chain and organizational capacity development.
  • Previous NGO work preferred.
  • Knowledge of Community Organizing (CO) and Rights-Based Approaches (RBA) essential.
  • Advantageous to have expertise in agriculture value chain and marketing.
  • Strong leadership and management skills in program, finance, administration, staff development, and networking.

DPA deals with improving the quality of life among the rural poor by implementing activities focused on food security, education, health, natural resource management and agricultural development.
