Description of the mission

The role

Our international team is looking for a Junior Accounting Manager (f/m/x) in supporting the financial operations and compliance across our Southeast Asian entities (Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines). Our ideal candidate is strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, local GAAP) to ensure accurate bookkeeping, timely reconciliations, and reliable financial reporting. You combine your working knowledge of local and regional tax regulations (e.g., VAT, payroll tax, foreign contractor tax, and corporate income tax) to ensure correct and timely tax filings and compliance.

In this role you will

  • Report directly to the Head of Finance, Southeast Asia (SEA), and indirectly to the Accounting Manager, SEA
  • Assist in overseeing the work of external bookkeepers and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely financial records that support monthly closing processes;
  • Support the day-to-day accounting functions of the assigned entities;
  • Ensure proper tax and commercial accounting treatment for daily operations, including payroll-related taxes, VAT, foreign contractor tax, corporate income tax, and other regulatory filings (e.g., statistical reports, DPI submissions);
  • Support the preparation and review of year-end financial statements for SEA entities in collaboration with external auditors and tax advisors;
  • Perform regular reconciliations and transaction reviews within the accounting system;
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests and assignments from line managers as needed; and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, including initiatives aimed at automation and digital transformation.

Your Skills:

  • Ability to identify discrepancies, analyse financial data, and ensure precision in processing transactions and preparing reports;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, external advisors, and auditors. Ability to explain financial matters clearly to non-financial stakeholders;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines (e.g., month-end close, statutory filings), and maintain structured documentation;
  • Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and suggesting practical improvements to streamline operations and support automation initiatives; and
  • High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
