Requirements

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain energy system model for Southeast Asia
Collect and analyse data necessary for your research, while liaising with Ember's data team
Liaise with colleagues, including analysts to ensure that the models reflect actual system operation and market dynamics
Produce compelling, data-led reports based on the modelling results
Build and maintain a network of external stakeholders to maximise impact on the wider policy debate and explore opportunities for collaboration
Support in addressing media queries related to clean electricity transition in ASEAN countries

Must have

Minimum 5 years of experience working in a research or an analytical role on energy transition in Southeast Asia
At least 3 years experience in energy systems modelling on both capacity expansion and dispatch
Strong understanding of the power sector and energy transition challenges in Southeast Asia
Experience of independently writing reports, policy briefs and op-eds as well strong verbal communication skills
Skill for communicating the key insights from a complex subject or dataset in an accessible and compelling way
Should be able to work independently; able to multitask; set priorities and meet deadlines with limited direction while working remotely
Fluent in English
