Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain energy system model for Southeast Asia
  • Collect and analyse data necessary for your research, while liaising with Ember's data team
  • Liaise with colleagues, including analysts to ensure that the models reflect actual system operation and market dynamics
  • Produce compelling, data-led reports based on the modelling results
  • Build and maintain a network of external stakeholders to maximise impact on the wider policy debate and explore opportunities for collaboration
  • Support in addressing media queries related to clean electricity transition in ASEAN countries
Profile

Must have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a research or an analytical role on energy transition in Southeast Asia
  • At least 3 years experience in energy systems modelling on both capacity expansion and dispatch
  • Strong understanding of the power sector and energy transition challenges in Southeast Asia
  • Experience of independently writing reports, policy briefs and op-eds as well strong verbal communication skills
  • Skill for communicating the key insights from a complex subject or dataset in an accessible and compelling way
  • Should be able to work independently; able to multitask; set priorities and meet deadlines with limited direction while working remotely
  • Fluent in English
