EnergyLab is developing Cambodia’s first “Clean Energy Progress Report" to capture progress towards meeting Cambodia’s clean energy targets and provide recommendations to accelerate deployment. This analysis should focus on two key areas: renewable energy deployment and energy efficiency. The renewable energy assessment should look at the progress of deploying renewable energy to date, detail the Government’s announced targets and show progress towards meeting those targets. This analysis should include a high-level consideration of transmission constraints, storage requirements and system upgrades. It should also show the build rate required to meet Cambodia’s goals and analyse factors that could inhibit this build rate.
This research will also analyse progress toward meeting Cambodia’s National Energy Efficiency Policy. The consultant will identify the broad range of policies that can be used to meet the energy efficiency target (including details on the range of ambition presented by each policy), rank these options in terms of feasibility and impact, and then provide recommendations to accelerate progress. The consultant will be required to estimate the jobs and investments created by Cambodia’s clean energy and energy efficiency targets. The consultant will deliver this study by conducting research, measurement, modeling and analysis, as well as by providing written inputs, and accurate and well-communicated statistics required by EnergyLab.
