Position & Function

  • Responsible for a specific Large Scale Solar (LSS) Farm Renewable project from the development to the execution, overseeing all technical, contractual, financial, and regulatory aspects of the project. This includes supporting the finalization of relevant documents and establishing systems and processes for monitoring and controlling Health Safety & Environment (HSE), quality, budget, and timeline progress of the construction. The Project Manager (PM) will be involved in the project as early as the development decision is made, co-developing the project with the Lead Business Developer until the handover takes place before construction starts.
  • Responsible for overall project execution for a specific Large Scale Solar (LSS) Farm Renewable project, managing the local project team, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) companies, suppliers, and liaising with ENGIE internal teams and project-related authorities until the testing and commissioning of the LSS power plant and the achievement of the guaranteed performances (quality, capacity, availability, efficiency).
  • Responsible for Large Scale Solar (LSS) Farm Renewable project management with all operational, contractual, and financial aspects to ensure adherence to the HSE plan, quality control plan, time schedule, and capital expenditures budget. This involves managing effective liaisons with ENGIE SEA, ENGIE APAC, Project Managers, contractors, and authorities.
Profile

Academic/Professional Qualifications Required

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience of over 10 years in industry, with engineering companies involved for at least 5 years in power renewable or solar plant projects with international development and construction.
  • Experience of a minimum of 6 years as a project manager or construction manager in the field of project management.

Period And Field Of Experience Required

  • Experience of a minimum of 6 years as a project manager or construction manager in the field of project management for large-scale solar (LSS) ground-mounted farms (at least 50 MWac/project in Malaysia), including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Prior experience of over 2 years in Malaysia in solar plant engineering, construction, project planning, and contracts management, with interfacing with Malaysian authorities (SEDA, MIDA, Energy Commission, TNB).
  • Proficiency in English, including the ability to write concise reports and liaise effectively with the Head Of Renewables in ENGIE SEA in Singapore, as well as Directors within ENGIE AMEA for Large Scale Solar project steering committees on HSE, quality, technical, and financial matters.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of engineering, construction, project financing, and operations and maintenance of solar power plants.
  • Capability to structure and drive complex projects in multicultural contexts with strong understanding of power project critical paths and milestones (land, grid interconnection, permitting, T&C).
  • Interaction experience in an international working environment with an understanding of the technical and commercial principles underlying relevant commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to manage internal resources/consultants/stakeholders effectively, driving the construction team to adhere to construction, HSE, quality, timeline, and budget requirements.
