Job Description

The Area Services Manager (ASM) is a client facing leadership role requires a seasoned professional with an understanding of the lifecycle of EPC project development, delivery, and extensive experience in operations and maintenance contracts execution energy storage sector. This role drives execution of long-term service agreements in a well-planned, tracked and auditable manner. The ASM directly manages external and internal stakeholders. Th ideal candidate will possess an outstanding customer focused delivery mindset with a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective team leadership. The Area Services Manager directly reports to Service Director - Philippines & Taiwan with dotted reporting line to Fluence Taiwan General Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, motivate and protect a team of Field Service Engineers by ensuring they have the correct, fit for purpose resources (tools of trade, training, PPE, etc) to perform their duties correctly and safely.

• Technically equipped and knowledgeable and physically fit to carry out FSE works should need arises.

• Manages active Long-term Service Agreement deliverables by planning & requesting for the right resources and executing planned tasks within the schedule and within or below the budget.

• Escalation point of FSE for any issues that requires intervention beyond the capability of the FSE. The role is expected to actively communicate to the next level up on any support required.

• Manage and report safety related issues by providing support to FSE on safety concerns or stop work authorities by creating a safe environment for reporting without the fear of retaliation.

• Utilize Services platforms, systems and various databases and checks the daily progress of the Field Service Engineers on planned tasks and priorities.

• Drive results and resolution on issues within the LTSA scope, on time and under budget.

• Accountable for the Field Service Engineers’ deliverables, such as, but not limited to Work Order reports, NCRs, NCC, Warranty claim forms, technical reports.

• Collaborate and regularly align with Services Planners / Analysts on planned maintenance.

• The position is expected liaise with Global and Regional Services team members and other disciplines which include but not limited to:

o Project Delivery

o Commissioning

o HSEQ

o Procurement

o Solutions Engineering

o Sustaining Engineering

o Services Sales and Services Sales Engineering

• Day to day interaction with and support to the members of the Regional Services teams in APAC.

• Adheres to the high standards of health, safety and quality management required by the Fluence organisation and our customers.

• Actively contribute to the department and corporate KPIs.

• Demonstrate and ensure strong compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies, with a particular emphasis on safety and quality requirements.

Experience & Qualifications

• >7-10 years of experience in Operations and maintenance roles with a focus on the energy sector, preferably energy storage, clean tech, or renewables handling team members, various sites, and different clients.

• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Agile and assertive in providing options and taking decisions in instances that requires immediate yet non-critical with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.

• Highly motivated, organized, and a self-starter with a positive attitude.

• Strong communicator and relationship builder who give / earn trust and respect of the client team and internal project, engineering, commissioning and business administrators as well as external partners and contributors.

• Demonstrable ability working in a high-performance team within a virtual, matrixed, global organisation.

• Willingness to travel as needed to project sites and customer locations.

Education & Professional Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

• Strong capability and experience with the review and updating complex templates as part of a sales operations process

• Strong interpersonal skills; able to build and manage strong relationships with team, cross-functional colleagues, and external partners

Languages

Fluent in English even if Chinese is first language.

Travel

The role requires local travel and may include 20% international travel.
