Description of the mission

Name of Project: Nutrition Education and Promotion Project (NEPP)

Project Purpose: Improve waste management in the target community through waste reduction and separation practices (TBC)

Project Outcomes:

  • <Research> Establish a new school-centered project involving surrounding villages.
  • <Follow-up> Health education with cooking classes is fully implemented in target schools.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • This Project Facilitator will lead research for the new project by collecting and analyzing community data, engaging stakeholders, and identifying key challenges. Please refer to the main responsibilities below for details:
  • Prepare training materials and coordinate the training schedule with counterparts.
  • Support the facilitation of meetings/training as well as promotional activities of FBDG and nutrition education.
  • Assist in facilitating activities at the target schools and monitor their initiatives/ownership.
  • Support the implementation and observations in households to assess waste management and hygiene practices, data management, and analysis with the support from nutrition specialist.
  • Assist in conducting a waste analysis to evaluate the community’s waste situation and identify potential solutions with support from a professional organization.
  • Support the production of promotional videos for project promotion, donors, and fundraising.
  • Assist in producing activity reports, operational plans, official letters, meeting minutes, and PR articles in English and/or Khmer.
  • Facilitate capacity building and promotional activities within target communities.
  • Translate relevant documents from English to Khmer and vice versa, and interpret for expatriates.
  • Foster strong cooperation and mutual understanding between FIDR, project counterparts, and relevant agencies.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health, education, environment, or other majors related to social/community development.

Work History:

  • At least work experience in development projects (Preferably in the health-related field, survey and data analysis, training, education, or environment-related field, or community development) for 2 years

Skills & Knowledge

General & Technical Skills

  • Strong interests in environment, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Excellent command of written and oral English, enough to communicate with expatriates.
  • Computer literacy with competence in Word, Excel, Power Point, Photoshop, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.

Soft Skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative and flexible person who can work well under pressure and perform multiple tasks.
  • High commitment to work as NGO staff.
