The Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) is seeking a visionary and passionate Executive Director to lead transformative efforts in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

The Executive Director leads the organization’s strategic direction, overseeing programs that promote biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and community empowerment across the Philippines.

Profile
  1. Educational background: A Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development, Public Administration, or any related field.
  2. Leadership experience: At least 10 years of leadership experience in NGOs, preferably focused on environmental conservation, climate action, or community development.
  3. Management experience: At least 10 years of experience in managing a diverse team, build consensus, and promote collaboration among staff, board members, partners, and stakeholders.
  4. Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of Philippine environmental laws, indigenous peoples’ rights, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and sustainable development frameworks (like SDGs). Familiarity with environmental grant-making processes and community-based conservation practices.
  5. Financial management: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring organizational sustainability.
  6. Commitment to good governance and ethical leadership; Deep passion for environmental protection and social equity.
  7. Ability to adapt to complex socio-political contexts and work with grassroots communities and marginalized sectors.
  8. Excellent communication skills in English and Filipino; knowledge of local Philippine languages is preferred.
