Key responsibilities:

  • Own the full project lifecycle for Earth Academy - China Team's flagship Education for Sustainable Development (“ESD”) programme for youth - from planning and budgeting through execution, monitoring, and closure, across Hong Kong and Mainland China.
  • Coordinate day-to-day programme delivery, including study tours, student visits to eco-enterprises and wetlands, expert lectures; integrate STEM/STEAM concepts into ESD programme materials.
  • Coordinate content and video production for programme deliverables, including educational materials, programme documentation, and multimedia outputs in support of Earth Academy and related initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate programme progress against objectives, proactively adjusting implementation plans and preparing clear progress reports with data-driven recommendations for senior management and funders.
  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders - including Mainland government agencies, research institutions, NGO partners, community organisations, sponsors, and vendors.
  • Liaise with working parties on logistics, participant recruitment, and cross-border operational coordination to support programme delivery.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports for programme funders and sponsors in accordance with grant or sponsorship requirements.
  • Supervise and guide junior staff or external partners in day-to-day programme execution, providing direction and quality oversight.
  • Contribute to project budgeting, donor compliance, and internal reporting processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Profile

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Geography, Natural Resource Management, Science Education, or a related discipline. A diploma with substantial relevant experience will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated track record in programme or project management, NGO work, or cross-border environmental or education initiatives. Experience at a supervisory or team-leading level is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the environmental, NGO, or policy landscape in Mainland China — including experience working with Mainland government agencies, research institutions, or community partners - is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of or experience in ESD or STEM/STEAM education frameworks is a plus, particularly in programme design and delivery contexts.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solution-driven - able to manage multiple workstreams independently while keeping broader programme goals in sight.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in written and spoken Cantonese and Mandarin; proficiency in Mandarin is particularly important for Mainland partner liaison.
  • Strong report writing skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to produce clear, professional documents for internal and external audiences.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; comfortable with data organisation, basic analysis, and presentation preparation.
  • Experience coordinating content production (video, educational materials, or digital content) is an advantage.
  • Strong team player who can take initiative and support senior management in strategic programme delivery.
  • Willing to travel to Mainland China for project-related activities, and to work on occasional Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays as operationally required (transport subsidy and compensatory leave provided).
