About the Job

The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for monitoring, managing and reporting on all project expenses the organization needs. This includes developing policies, grant management, tracking finances of ongoing projects and other income, and monitoring all office expenses related to Gateway activities. The Senior Finance Manager oversees the finance team and reports to the Head of Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance and Accounting:

  • Supervising and checking all finance documents to ensure they align with Gateway Education’s Finance Policies.
  • Reporting financial statements for all projects, including budget-related communication with donors.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and deduction of taxes in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing grant management and consultancy project contracts of Gateway Education.
  • Developing and updating the organizational finance manual, policies, and relevant financial forms.
  • Preparation of bimonthly/quarterly financial reports, distribution, and consultancy reports.
  • Supervising and managing the payment process and accounting issues.
  • Presenting relevant internal finance policy orientation to new employees.
  • Budget allocation for departmental project implementation.
  • Coordinating with budget holders for budget allocation if needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Management and Leadership:

  • Cooperation with HR for the departmental hiring process.
  • Liaise with the Gateway Education Board where necessary on financial matters.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Leadership team.
  • Collaborate with HR and the Operations Manager in financial and legal compliance.
  • Provide updates on the financial status of the organization, including key challenges and opportunities.
  • Encourage a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence in financial management.

➔ Profile

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Minimum a Bachelor degree, preferably a Masters’ degree and/or have equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to interpret complex with financial data
  • Experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multicultural teams and communicate financial insights to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations and of Thai non-profit law as relates to financial management.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial accounting/bookkeeping software
  • Fluency in written and spoken Thai and English
