German European School Singapore (GESS) is a world class, not for profit International School in Singapore that offers both the German Curriculum stream and the IB Curriculum stream.

Currently, more than 1850 students are learning at our international school supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members.

The German European School Singapore (GESS) is looking for expressions of interest for the positions of

Pre-School Teaching Assistants. 

The roles are available as permanent or fixed-term positions, commencing at the earliest convenience.

Responsabilities / Verantworlichkeiten

  • Cohesive nature to work with parents and other members of the school community
  • Assist in the routine care of children
  • Communicate with parents, teachers and school community

  • Demonstrate the highest levels of honesty, integrity and professionalism
  • Attend staff meetings, collaborative planning meetings and other school event, when required, i.e. professional development

  • Aufsicht der Kinder zu jeder Zeit
  • Planung und Vorbereitung von Unterrichtsaktivitäten, Portfolios und Schulveranstaltungen gemeinsam mit dem/der Klassenlehrer/in
  • Unterstützung bei der Kinder-Betreuung
  • Kommunikation mit Eltern, Lehrern und der Schul-Community
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Eltern und anderen Mitgliedern der Schulgemeinschaft
  • Beitrag zur GESS-Kultur mit Fokus auf Reflektion und kontinuierlicher Verbesserung
  • Höchste Standards von Ehrlichkeit, Integrität und Professionalität demonstrieren
  • Teilnahme an Besprechungen des Lehrerkollegiums, Mitwirkung an gemeinsamen Planungsmeetings und anderen Schulveranstaltungen (z. B. berufliche Weiterbildung)

Requirements / Anforderungen

  • Experience working with children age of 2 - 6 years
  • Must be proficient in German - spoken & written language - as the class will be conducted in German
  • Good English skills - spoken & written language - is required, as you will be interacting with English-speaking students
  • Have an engaging and attentive disposition with a passion and talent to work with young children
  • Must have experience in teaching hands-on and inquiry lead approaches as well as in a play-based curriculum
  • The ability to approach people in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Must demonstrate strong work ethics & possess a positive working attitude and be a great team player
  • Angemessene Erfahrung in der Arbeit mit Kindern im Alter von 2 bis 6 Jahren
  • Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse sind erforderlich - sowohl mündlich als auch schriftlich - da der Unterricht auf Deutsch durchgeführt wird
  • Gute Englischkenntnisse sind erforderlich, für die Zusammenarbeit mit englischsprachigen Kindern
  • Selbstständigkeit, Zuverlässgikeit und viel Freude an der Arbeit mit Kindern
  • Engagierte und aufmerksame Persönlichkeit mit Leidenschaft für die Zusammenarbeit mit kleinen Kindern
  • Erfahrung in der Anwendung praxisorientierter und forschungsbasierter Ansätze sowie in einem spielbasierten Lehrplan
  • Proaktive Persönlichkeit mit einer hohen Arbeitsmoral, positiven Arbeitseinstellung und mit hoher Teamfähgikeit

Our School

The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited ‘Excellent German School Abroad’, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates.

 

Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School.

 

Children aged 2 years onwards can enroll in our Preschool where children are following the PYP programme in German-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual groups. In addition to an outstanding academic education, GESS strives to teach students community values such as respect, openness and diversity.
