Full Scope of Work

The Accounting and Award Consultant will help ensure that the Finance Department meets its accountability in providing financial and award management oversight specifically for the BELUU project. The consultant is expected to become a key contact person for multiple partners and stakeholders in preparing and submitting their financial reports and documentation.

The Accounting and Award Consultant is responsible for the successful implementation of the Monthly and Quarterly Financial reviews, ensuring that reports are consistently completed on time. They will work directly with the Manager, Business Finance and Compliance Manager and Senior Program Manager, in coordination with the Business Analyst in preparing organization-wide analysis of global MFR results of BELUU for senior leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, International Development, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Public Policy or related field. Preference for understanding of technology, particularly digital financial tools and on-line learning applications.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets is a strong plus.
  • Thematic area of focus in Gender Based Violence, Women Economic Empowerment, Climate Change, Gender issues, Business Skills is a strong plus.
  • Verbal communication and relationship management skills; with an ability to influence others without authority, and deliver results with diverse partners
  • Deep understanding of challenges facing poor, women, smallholder farmers and corresponding product/solution; combined with a deep commitment to eradicating poverty.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues and recommendations, and work with stakeholders to get decisions in a timely manner
  • Strong execution skills, and the ability to overcome and work around operational obstacles.
  • Is familiar with Google Suite and other financial management software or tools.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams is a plus.
