  • Under supervision of the Water and climate specialist, the Energy intern will support the implementation of the PURE project’s activities in Cambodia including, but not limited to following tasks:
  • Literature Review & Research
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of policies, regulations, and relevant documents in Cambodia's energy sector.
  • Analyze comparable projects, programs, and commercial initiatives related to renewable energy (RE) and the green economy.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to assess the economic, social, and regulatory landscape for RE and productive use of energy (PUE) investments.
  • Conduct literature reviews on the economic, social, and regulatory environments affecting RE and PUE sectors in Cambodia
  • Baseline & Assessment Surveys
  • Support the design and implementation of baseline and assessment surveys.
  • Develop survey methodologies, including data collection tools and field survey plans.
  • Conduct data collection, processing, and analysis to generate insights for project planning and decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Market Assessment & Supply-chain Analysis
  • Conduct literature reviews to understand the economic landscape for RE & PUE supply chains.
  • Identify key local actors (suppliers, installers, policymakers, financiers) in the RE supply chain.
  • Assess their roles, influence, and contributions to the sustainability of RE projects.
  • Collect market data and information regarding to solar system for productive use purposes.
  • Organize and facilitate focus group discussions with local stakeholders.
  • Quantifying current RE and PUE market size and potential growth trends.
  • Mission & Document Preparation
  • Planning and executing field missions and stakeholder engagements.
  • Prepare necessary documents, reports, and presentations for meetings and workshops.
  • Report Writing & Documentation
  • Develop high-quality reports summarizing research findings, survey results, and policy analyses.
  • Present data-driven recommendations for improving RE policies and market dynamics.
  • Other Duties
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Water and Climate Specialist.
Profile
  • Graduate in a relevant field (e.g., Energy, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related disciplines).
  • Background or academic experience in the energy or electricity sector.
  • Reading and writing skills in Khmer and English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to provinces for field surveys.
