The Human Rights and Development Foundation (HRDF) is a non-profit organization committed to creating an inclusive society where workers, migrants, and migrant workers are protected and empowered, and democratic values and human rights are upheld. HRDF’s mission encompasses knowledge dissemination, policy advocacy, social campaigning, empowerment, and fostering partnerships. With headquarters in Bangkok and legal advocacy offices in Chiang Mai, Mae Sot, Mahachai, and Phuket, HRDF provides legal support to migrant workers and advocates for their rights. In collaboration with international partners, HRDF promotes labor protection, freedom of association, and mobility for migrant workers. The organization seeks a skilled professional to coordinate projects and advance human rights, social equity, and empowerment.
Position Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be primarily responsible for managing projects to achieve their goals and objectives in line with the HRDF’s mission. This position is based at HRDF’s office in Phuket Province but involves implementing projects in other provinces, such as Ranong, Phang Nga, Chiang Mai, Lamphun and Bangkok. Frequent travel to these areas is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordination & Management:
- Plan, manage, and implement project activities, including budget management, monitoring, and evaluation, to achieve project objectives.
- Oversee office operations and act as a liaison between field office staff and the head office.
- Organize meetings, seminars, and training sessions with stakeholders, including government officials, civil society networks, and migrant workers.
- Coordinate with funders and visitors within the project areas.
- Collaborate with HRDF staff in other regions to ensure alignment of project objectives.
- Represent the organization in meetings with civil society networks, government agencies, private sector entities, and international organizations to present project findings.
Case Management and Fieldwork:
- Support the legal team in receiving and recording complaints from migrant workers and tracking case progress.
- Coordinate between lawyers, paralegals, government officials, and partner organizations to support case management.
- Conduct field visits to migrant worker communities to monitor situations, identify issues, and organize community activities.
Reporting:
- Gather and analyze data to prepare progress reports for funders.
- Collect and summarize information on migrant employment, policies, and relevant laws for dissemination to target audiences.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, including lessons learned, case studies, and analysis of complaints.
- Maintain project financial records and coordinate with financial officers for reporting.
