➔ Description of the mission

Background

The Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC), supported by the Clean Mobility Collective Southeast Asia is seeking an Urban Mobility Campaigner to support the development and implementation of strategies to its ongoing urban mobility campaign initiatives.

The role includes providing the necessary support to the Clean Mobility Collective – Southeast Asia’s (CMC-SEA) Coordinator to ensure smooth coordination among partners and relevant stakeholders, organizing and executing events, overseeing project deliverables, developing and updating the campaign brief and narrative, and working closely with the team to support the implementation of agreed campaign activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that ICSC’s mobility campaigns are well planned and executed:
  • In consultation with campaign network members, develop the campaign briefs, narrative and activity concept notes, and work with communications team in developing the communications plan;
  • Work closely with communications team and consultants in drafting key messages for public release, reactives ensuring that information provided are data-driven;
  • Proactively lead in responding to email inquiries and correspondence to external audiences.
  1. Provide pro-active network coordination support:
  • Provide coordination support to campaign network partners ensuring that partner organizations, local government units, private sector stakeholders are provided with timely updates and information on campaign activities and events;
  • Oversee coordination with campaign volunteers engaged;
  • Facilitate regular coordination meetings and debriefing sessions, project assessments and ensure that collective lessons and insights are documented.
  1. Event Organizing: Lead in organizing events, workshops, webinars and outreach activities agreed with campaign partners.
  2. Knowledge management
  • Provide regular updates, highlights to the national and local partners;
  • Maintain and update repository of documentation and data of campaign initiatives;
  • Proactively provide data to campaign convenors for advocacy.
  1. Networking and Representation
  • Represent the campaign network in key networking and outreach activities, communicating the key messages of the campaign and the network;
  1. Monitor progress, manage timelines, and ensure adherence to project deliverables and deadlines and contribute to submission of project reports highlighting key lessons, achievements and gains in a timely manner;
  2. Contribute to the advancement of ICSC’s agenda on urban development, providing regular contributions to updating of ICSC’s narrative through blogs, features, opinion pieces, and support to ICSC’s joint initiatives on advancing inclusive, low-carbon development through fair climate and just energy transition.

➔ Profile

Qualification

  1. Filipino national. Fluency and proficiency in English;
  2. Bachelors or advanced degree on any of the following fields: development studies, urban planning and development, transport, communications, environmental management
  3. Familiarity and expertise on urban mobility issues and challenges in Southeast Asian cities;
  4. Willing to travel to Philippine and Southeast Asian cities.
  5. Results-driven and process-oriented;
  6. A solid understanding of the vital linkages between sustainable development, urban mobility and liveability, air pollution, and climate;
  7. At least 3 years of cumulative experience in designing, leading campaigns and coordinating campaign teams in the field of climate, environmental or social justice sector, ideally on incentives-driven private sector engagement and/or citizen actions;
  8. Experience in online and offline campaigning targeting cities and/or corporates, including citizen mobilising strategies and tactics;
  9. Ability to identify and pursue opportunities for high-profile media/communications and grow a network of urban mobility advocates and change makers;
  10. A positive, flexible, can-do attitude, coupled with self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills, i.e. the ability to work in teams and across different cultures.
  12. Must be able to work on flexible working hours. Due to the international nature of this post, coordination meetings are held beyond office hours of the base country.
