The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people affected by humanitarian crises—including the climate crisis—to survive, recover and rebuild their lives.
Background of the project
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provide assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.
IRC will provide a broad range of protection services to newly arrived refugees identified within the Royal Thai Government’s “safety zones”, “holding areas” and informal settings. Protection monitoring by the IRC and a network of local implementing partners and community-based organizations (CBOs) will be the primary means to identify key protection risks for populations.
Responsive information is a key protection intervention of the IRC Thailand, which aims to increase awareness and ability to make decisions for targeted beneficiaries. The Protection Response design is to be adapted to the context and change of needs of the affected population; one of the key results of the response is to provide useful and verified information to the affected population inside the camp, holding areas and other areas of displacement. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Information Management Manager, technical support by the Responsive Information Manager. Content Development Consultant will serve in the implementation of the IRC Thailand Protection and Empowerment Program response for helping develop and implement content strategy and informational content that is accurate, complete, easy to understand, and engaging to empower crisis-affected people to stay safe, claim their rights, access services, and make informed choices.
Scope of work
Content Development Consultant will helpto produce high-quality, engaging, and relevant content for social media platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with the IRC-Protection and Empowerment -Responsive Information team to support developing the content for awareness and publishing in social media.
