Your impact

The Renewable Energy Consultant is responsible for providing consultancy engineering services for Renewable Energy projects, with a particular focus on solar. This role requires detailed knowledge of the renewable energy development processes, technical design, due diligence, and owner’s engineering.

  • Support project teams in renewable energy project delivery.
  • Preparation and review of feasibility studies, conceptual designs, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Undertake construction-phase site inspections and report on quality and progress.
  • Performance review of operational sites.
  • Support to the regional team’s technical capabilities for solar and BESS projects to act as Owner’s Engineer and Lender’s Technical Advisor.
  • Conduct yield assessment for solar projects with state-of-the-art software, such as PVsyst and PVcase.
  • Be engaged in the safety culture of Jacobs and promote safety in all aspects of project delivery.
  • Mentoring of younger colleagues on technical aspects.
  • Proactively manage the HSE requirements on projects.
  • Support in bids and proposals and engage in client activities.
  • Support other generation projects as required, depending on know-how and experience.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to deliver the wider goals and targets of the team, section, and Performance Unit.
  • Attends client meetings where possible to gain an understanding of the relationships that we aspire to maintain.
  • Ensures tasks undertaken are understood completely before starting, and monitors time taken as well as forward workload. Touches base with Team/Section Lead periodically. Meets and balances scope of deliverables with time allocation.

Profile

Here's what you'll need

  • With a professional degree in engineering field relevant for renewable energy projects (M.Sc. or B.Sc.).
  • Good technical understanding of renewable energy technologies
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience with at least 5 years within renewable energy consulting, development, or EPC.
  • Solar designing experience with state-of-the-art software packages such as PVcase.
  • Experience with modelling and simulation of solar assets in PVsyst.
  • Track record of involvement in large-scale solar system construction (at least one project >10MW), such as construction monitoring/supervision/construction manager.
  • You will support your Performance Unit to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships to maximize the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.
  • Possess excellent English oral and written communication skills (report writing).

  • Provide renewable energy technical guidance and expertise to the wider group
  • Candidates must have work right status to be employed in Malaysia.
