About Our Client
Our client leads a climate program advancing energy efficiency and carbon emissions reduction through appliance and equipment standards, active in Indonesia since 2018 and expanding across Southeast Asia. They partner with policymakers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumer and academic institutions across dozens of countries to accelerate markets for high-efficiency, less resource-intensive products — primarily through minimum performance standards, product labeling, and promotion of top-performing appliances.
The Role
We’re seeking a highly motivated, collaborative Senior Associate to help plan and execute our Southeast Asia energy efficiency portfolio, with a focus on appliances and equipment in commercial buildings and industrial facilities. Based in Jakarta and reporting to the Indonesia Senior Manager, you’ll work with regional and global teams (US, Europe, Africa, Asia) to deliver research, analysis, and policy-ready outputs, taking ownership of assigned projects from concept through implementation.
What You’ll Do
Project Leadership & Delivery
● Lead planning and implementation of assigned projects — on time, on budget, meeting donor and quality requirements
● Develop and manage workplans, timelines, budgets, and MEL frameworks; monitor progress and mitigate risks
● Manage consultants and implementing partners, overseeing deliverables and quality
● Organize technical workshops, stakeholder consultations, and capacity-building activities
● Mentor junior staff, interns, and consultants as needed
● Prepare technical and donor reports, presentations, and project documentation; maintain organizational knowledge management and contribute to public-facing communications
Technical, Market & Policy Analysis
● Lead technical, market, and policy analysis to advance energy efficiency and decarbonization of appliances and equipment in commercial and industrial settings
● Translate research findings into clear, policy-maker-ready reports, presentations, and recommendations
● Support development of communications materials with the Global Comms team
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Development
● Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, manufacturers, industry associations, utilities, testing labs, financial institutions, and development partners
● Represent the organization at national and international meetings and events
● Support identification of new business opportunities and proposal development with the Senior Manager and business development team
What We’re Looking For:
● Mission-driven, with sound independent judgment and minimal need for supervision
● Excellent written and spoken English and formal Bahasa Indonesia
● Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and rapidly evolving work environment
● Strong collaboration skills and effective within a cross-cultural, diverse team
● Bachelor’s degree in economics, energy, environmental science, engineering, law, public policy, or international relations
● 5+ years in energy, environmental, regulatory, market, or public policy analysis
● Demonstrated expertise in technical, economic, and policy analysis, including market research and regulatory review; experience in cooling, household appliances, or commercial/industrial equipment strongly preferred
● Solid knowledge of appliance technologies and markets in industrial and commercial sectors preferred
Compensation & Location
Full-time, based in Jakarta with occasional domestic and international travel. Salary is competitive and benchmarked annually against peer non-profits, ranging USD $25,000–35,000 depending on experience.
