Our client leads a climate program that supports ambitious efforts to mitigate climate change through appliance and equipment energy efficiency in Indonesia since 2018.
As their program continues to grow and expands to other Southeast Asian countries, they are looking to strengthen their team to better support multiple partners in achieving their climate goals and delivering ambitious energy efficiency and carbon emissions reductions.

- Policymakers and other key stakeholders in dozens of countries—from Brazil to Indonesia, the EU to China—with support from a diverse group of funders. The team provides world-class technical and policy advisory services to support the development and implementation of ambitious and cost-effective product efficiency policies in countries and regions around the world.
- Governments, product manufacturers and retailers, consumer organizations, academic institutions, and other key stakeholders to propel markets toward high quality, less resource-intensive products.
They primarily work to accelerate the development of energy efficient product markets through minimum energy performance standards, informative product labeling, and identification and promotion of the most efficient appliances, both on and off the grid.
Summary of Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our team based in Indonesia. In this role, you will help us plan and execute our portfolio of energy efficiency programs and projects in Southeast Asia.
The Senior Associate will work collaboratively with the rest of the program as well as our team members in US, Europe, Africa, and Asia, conducting research, analysis, and other tasks to ensure the creation of quality outputs such as reports, memos, and presentations that support the advancement of our portfolio of energy efficiency projects in Southeast Asia.
Your responsibilities will include general tasks and specific tasks as follows:
The general tasks include but not limited to:
Management, Administration and Coordination:
▪ Responsible for ensuring goals and objectives for assigned project(s) are achieved on time and within budget in collaboration with Program Manager,
▪ May direct staff or manage a team of external consultants to ensure goals and objectives are achieved for assigned project(s) in collaboration with Program Manager,
▪ May assist with fiscal management of an assigned program/department in collaboration with Program Manager,
▪ Within existing budget redirects funds and designs new projects that are higher impact in collaboration with Program Manager (oriented to cost effectiveness),
▪ Attending regular team check-in and other coordination meetings within Indonesia Team, and HQ/Global Team
▪ Contribute to the reporting on the program updates e.g., Minute of Meeting, Yearly Report, Donor Report etc.
▪ Contribute to the knowledge management and communication / PR e.g., ensuring all documentation of the activities and reporting stored in the Box folder, developing press releases, or any documentation for public readers.
Leadership:
▪ Working with directors/managers develops and implements strategies that accomplish program goals and ensures work is high impact
▪ Actively identify opportunities within team, project and program that will ensure work is high impact
▪ Support and build the capacity of the Program Associate on the data analysis, modeling using in-house and other modeling tools as well as any other tools that are relevant.
External/Relation:
▪ Representing us on the national and international stages e.g., participating in and presenting at international and regional meetings, workshops, and events to further the implementation of our programs and sustainability of energy efficient appliances.
▪ Perform professionalism and ethics. Duty to conform to and promote the company’s standards code and conduct
Business Development:
▪ In collaboration with Program Manager and project team, identifying new business opportunities,
▪ Leads the development of proposals and new projects in collaboration with directors/managers and other team members
▪ Keeping up to date with the trends in the own work areas and advancing our mission
The specific tasks include but not limited to:
Technical Analysis and Policy Assistance
- Leading the market research, analysis, modeling and other research related to the market transformation programs e.g., market research, business model, and financial impact assessment.
- Providing technical analysis, evidence-based data, and information, and packaged the data and information that are easily understood by the policy makers
- Develop and publish any analytical results relevant for policy advocacy in collaboration with Communication Team and Program Manager.
Financial Impact and risk Assessment
- Lead financial impact assessments of supported policies and interventions, including analysis of costs, benefits, affordability, return on investment (ROI), payback period, and other key financial indicators for consumers, industry, and government.
- Assess implementation, management, and market risks associated with proposed market transformation effort, and identifying practical mitigation measures to support effective adoption and delivery.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate how changes in assumptions may affect ROI, cost-effectiveness, financial viability, policy outcomes, and implementation risks.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based briefs, presentations, and recommendations to communicate financial and risk assessment findings to policymakers and other stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement for Market Activation
- Engage government, procurement agencies, and institutional buyers to support the adoption of high-efficiency products through public procurement, e-catalog alignment, and other demand-side mechanisms.
- Engage financial institutions, utilities, and other partners to explore business models and financing mechanisms such as bulk procurement, or other approaches that can accelerate uptake of high-efficiency products.
- Work with manufacturers, suppliers, and other market actors to assess market readiness, address supply-side barriers, and strengthen stakeholder buy-in for scaling high-efficiency products in the market.
Other Tasks: any other specific tasks will be developed according to the growth and development of the projects and partner needs.
