Job Description:

We are looking for individuals to join us as an Assistant Manager in our fast growing team to be a part of the founding members of the company. This position offers room for growth within the organisation.

Duties

To advance Science and Technology for Global Happiness, you will be expected to lean into:

  • Spreading interesting science and technology around the world: curating market exploration and expansion programmes, education workshops, publications and networking events across various countries in the Southeast Asia region.

  • Bringing science from the lab to society: sparking collaboration between researchers, startups and corporates through effective communication during Leave a Nest’s events.

  • Bridging emerging technologies to solve pressing societal issues.

  • Understanding the regional business ecosystem: conducting market research and networking projects according to the needs of partners.

  • Creating career opportunities in the science and deep tech ecosystem: connecting undergraduates and postgraduate students to partners to explore meaningful internship and career opportunities within the Southeast Asia region.

  • Raising interest in science from a young age: forging relationships with schools and auxiliary education centres to create, plan and execute science workshops for the students there.

  • Supporting young researchers in their scientific endeavours: curating and improving international programmes for students to solve societal and environmental issues.

  • Travel to various parts of the world to bridge people globally. (e.g Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe and more)

Working Hours

We expect 40 hours of work a week (in our office, located at Ayer Rajah). Typically (although this may be subject to change) this is Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm, with a lunch break between 11.30am and 1pm.

You should also expect to be involved in events that are held on Saturdays (off-in-lieu are granted for these events).

Profile

This is just an overview – ultimately, we’re looking for people who are intelligent, driven and passionate about science and its potential to solve the world’s problems. You should be organised, people-oriented, and willing to brainstorm on and experiment with the ways in which we can effectively connect researchers, companies, students, and start-ups.
