Description of the mission

Intern, Sustainability (Recycling & Recovery)

Job Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience addressing waste and recycling-related challenges across Marina Bay Sands, while supporting compliance with the Resource Sustainability Act (RSA) and contributing to the resort’s sustainability goals.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of waste and recycling related projects, including innovation pilots (POCs), stakeholder coordination, and internal engagement activities.
  • Support the team in conducting waste segregation trainings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help prepare and execute team member engagement programs focused on waste segregation awareness and RSA compliance across various departments.
  • Understand and support the operation of bin centres, food waste treatment machines, waste tracking systems, and other waste management technologies for Marina Bay Sands.
  • Perform basic analysis of waste and recycling data and assist in preparing presentations and communications materials for sustainability updates to key stakeholders.
  • Participate in kitchen inspections to observe RSA compliance and recycling practices, gaining exposure to operational sustainability efforts.
  • Support the team with research into leading sustainability innovations, including circular economy solutions, recycling technologies, and waste reduction strategies applicable to Marina Bay Sands.
  • Support corporate sustainability related projects (cross-property audits, etc)

Profile

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Must be from related academic disciplines in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering or Project and Facilities Management

Experience

  • No experience required as training will be provided

Other Prerequisites

  • Possess passion, knowledge and drive to create a more sustainable world
  • Ability to analyze data and articulate business value of sustainability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work within a diverse team
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and at least one other language
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team
