Profile

Role Overview

The Project Associate for Community Affairs serves as a vital bridge between the georeserve and its neighboring stakeholders, focusing on community mobilization and the establishment of strategic partnerships for conservation. This role is dedicated to preparing local residents and government bodies for collaborative environmental action through education, advocacy, and values formation. The position demands a high level of social intelligence and leadership to align community interests with the organization’s long-term restorative goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Education & Advocacy: Lead awareness initiatives and values formation sessions focused on heritage and conservation for local residents, youth, and government entities.
  • Local Linkages: Cultivate and manage productive relationships with Barangay officials, law enforcement agencies, and Local Government Units.
  • Conservation Campaigning: Drive localized campaigning efforts that align with the georeserve’s strategic protection and restoration objectives.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Manage external activities and volunteer programs designed to safeguard and reforest the Masungi landscape.
  • Livelihood Development: Oversee the creation and implementation of sustainable enterprise initiatives, ranging from agricultural produce to local crafts, for community benefit.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Social Work, or Forestry.
  • Environmental Insight: Deep appreciation for Philippine conservation realities and a commitment to leading environmental impact.
  • Core Skills: Proven expertise in community organizing, campaigning, and multi-stakeholder project management.
  • Interpersonal traits: Versatile communicator capable of conflict resolution and independent leadership under minimal oversight.
  • Physical Fitness: Physically prepared for sustained outdoor work and regular interaction with the natural environment.
  • Experience: 1–3 years in advocacy or community mobilization; highly motivated fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
