We are seeking a passionate, analytical, and proactive Sustainability / ESG Development Officer to join our growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with clients, industry leaders, certification bodies, government agencies, and sustainability experts while contributing to meaningful projects that advance responsible business practices and sustainable development.

What You'll Do

As a Sustainability / ESG Development Officer, you will play a key role in supporting clients throughout their sustainability journey—from conducting research, assessments, and ESG analysis to developing sustainability programs, policies, action plans, and certification strategies. You will evaluate environmental and social performance, identify improvement opportunities, support GSTC and other sustainability certification processes, prepare ESG and sustainability reports, monitor sustainability KPIs, and help clients translate sustainability commitments into measurable actions.

Beyond technical sustainability work, you will also contribute to stakeholder engagement, sustainability events, workshops, and industry forums, while coordinating with clients, certification bodies, NGOs, government agencies, and strategic partners. The role also includes supporting business growth by identifying potential clients, maintaining professional relationships, and exploring new opportunities to expand MVB Indonesia's sustainability advisory services across various sectors.

Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong analytical and research skills with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. You should be comfortable working with data, documentation, project coordination, client engagement, and sustainability reporting, while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and good governance principles.

You have a genuine interest in sustainability, not as a buzzword, but as a practice. You're comfortable moving between data and narrative: analysing ESG metrics one day, drafting a client report or presenting at a workshop the next.

You likely have a background in environmental science, sustainable development, business, or a related field, and some exposure to sustainability frameworks such as GSTC, GRI, or the SDGs. Hands-on experience, through internships, research, or project work, matters more to us than years on a CV.

You work well independently and across teams. You're organised enough to manage multiple client workstreams, curious enough to stay current on evolving standards, and confident enough to engage directly with clients, partners, and government stakeholders.

An eye for business development, spotting opportunities, building relationships, and following up, would make you stand out.

Above all, you're motivated by outcomes: helping organisations move from sustainability commitments to measurable action.
