Description of the mission

The Opportunity :

To accelerate our global footprint, we are launching the Market Founders Program, and we are looking for visionary leaders to take ownership of entire national markets. As a Market Founder, you will partner closely with OpenSolar to represent the company in your local market and, own the entire go-to-market strategy. We provide the world-class technology and support, while you build the local partnerships and training programs that drive platform adoption and revenue within your country. And you get to participate in the business outcomes you drive.

Please note: This opportunity is offered as an Independent Contractor/Consultant Agreement. The Market Founder will be responsible for their own tax, insurance, and benefit arrangements.

What you’ll be doing:

To succeed in this role, you must seamlessly shift between training solar professionals and closing partnerships that enhance the local ecosystem:

  • Drive Platform Adoption: Grow the local network of solar professionals, helping them shift from manual spreadsheets and sketchup tools to our end-to-end digital platform.
  • Scale Education & Community: Localize our training programs to upskill and further professionalize the local solar installer community.
  • Sell Marketing Services: Pitch and close contracts with global and local manufacturers to advertise and feature their products directly to our network of installers on the OpenSolar platform
  • Build Marketplace Partnerships: Partner with local hardware distributors to get their catalogs listed in the OpenSolar Shop, and their account managers connected to their installer customers on OpenSolar, enabling them to order equipment directly through the platform.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and build business cases for new types of partnerships that will benefit the local solar community, and OpenSolar.
  • Lead Programmatic Training: Own the OpenSolar-specific content and delivery for all relevant programmatic training.

Profile

What you’ll need:

  • Prior experience selling into the local distributed solar market is required, preferably with experience in the solar wholesale and distribution or installation business serving the residential and small commercial solar markets.
  • Prior entrepreneurial experience in building brand presence in new markets with proven results in growing market share.
  • Have a genuine passion for training users to ensure their success with OpenSolar.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel nationally as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • A high profile and strong personal reputation in your country’s solar market is strongly preferred.
  • Has an active professional social media presence
