About Paro Institute

Paro Institute is a nonprofit initiative driving the transition to alternative proteins in the Philippines. Our mission is to catalyze the shift to alternative protein production and consumption by uniting science, industry, policy, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration and innovation.

We envision a future where every Filipino has access to delicious, affordable, and protein-rich food produced in ways that benefit people, animals, and the environment. Alternative proteins from non-animal sources could provide a transformative solution to diversify diets, enhance food security, protect biodiversity, and strengthen the local agricultural economy—all while requiring fewer resources than traditional livestock farming.

Paro Institute is an expanded and long-term evolution of our previous initiative, the Alternative Protein Research Mapping Initiative in the Philippines (APRMI PH).

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and skilled professional to join us as an Outreach and Engagement Specialist. In this role, you will directly contribute to our mission by designing and executing outreach and engagement strategies, fostering partnerships, and mobilizing key stakeholders. You will have the autonomy to define your approach within your scope, subject to approval by the cofounders.

This position is funded for five months (March to July 2025), with the intention for renewal based on performance, the organization’s evolving strategy, and additional funding. We are hiring for this role to strengthen our team and increase our capacity as we scale operations this year. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to effectively fulfill the responsibilities outlined below:

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead an Outreach and Engagement Project

  • Design, implement, and evaluate a high-impact trial project aimed at activating a specific stakeholder segment (e.g., students) in alternative proteins.
  • Support strategic planning and fundraising efforts related to the project.

2. Assist in Rapid Stakeholder Consultation Research

  • Support ongoing stakeholder consultations and assist in identifying additional stakeholders upon joining.
  • Contribute to data analysis and provide actionable recommendations for next steps.

While the role is primarily focused on outreach and engagement, additional responsibilities may arise. However, we are committed to ensuring that your main focus remains on these efforts, with occasional involvement in other organizational projects that align with the Institute’s goals.
