➔ Description of the mission

The Field Facilitator will be responsible for the quality assurance and monitoring or project activities at the field level, serving as the primary link between the project management team and the local community members. The role involves ensuring effective implementation of plans and gathering feedback to assist in data consolidation and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor field implementation of project activities against the agreed multiyear and annual workplan and budget.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building support to local groups or individuals.
  • Verify data, track progress, and collect feedback from project participants to ensure credibility of field data.
  • Ensure constructive, inclusive, and safe environment during all field activities and discussions.
  • Coordinate logistics, materials, and schedules for field events with project management unit and partners and local stakeholders.
  • Document meetings, stakeholder consultations, group work results and prepare timely field reports.
  • Follow up on correcitive actions and provide recommendations for project management and implementation improvement.
  • Perform other relevant tasks as may be assigned.

Qualifications and skills required

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, fisheries social science, community development or equivalent discipline

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in the field, particularly in community-based projects or the relevant sector (e.g., environment, marine conservation and fisheries management, protected area systems, development cooperation).
  • Proven experience in facilitating participatory workshops and group discussions.
  • Experience in technical and financial monitoring and reporting on field activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and dialogue among diverse participants.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and implement field activities independently.
  • Adherence to organizational values and strong work ethic.

Languages: Fluency in the local dialect ( Ilocano (Region II), Kapampangan (Region III), Bikol (Region V) and working knowledge of Engllish (verbal and written) is essential.

IT Skills: Proficient in the use of computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets)
