We're looking for an experienced and motivated leader to join Proforest as Deputy Director, Responsible Sourcing & Production (Southeast Asia).

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of work with leading companies, financial institutions and partners, helping drive positive outcomes for people, nature and climate while supporting and developing a high-performing regional team.

The Role

As Deputy Director, you will lead Proforest's Responsible Sourcing & Production portfolio in Southeast Asia, working closely with the SEA Director and senior managers to deliver impactful projects, grow the portfolio and support organisational strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

✅ Leading and growing the Responsible Sourcing & Production portfolio across Southeast Asia

✅ Delivering projects with companies, financial institutions and partners to advance sustainable supply chains and responsible finance

✅ Overseeing portfolio planning, team resourcing, budgets and quality delivery

✅ Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, donors, industry stakeholders and strategic partners

✅ Supporting service development and identifying new opportunities

✅ Monitoring sustainability, policy and market developments relevant to the sector

✅ Representing Proforest at regional and international events

✅ Supporting business development and partnerships

✅ Coaching and developing a collaborative, high-performing team.

Profile

About You

We're looking for someone with leadership experience and a strong understanding of sustainable agriculture, forestry, responsible sourcing and/or sustainable finance.

You will bring:

• Experience delivering consultancy, sustainability or supply chain programmes

• Strong technical knowledge of agricultural and forestry commodity supply chains

• Understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities across commodity sectors

• Knowledge of finance and investment related to agriculture and forestry commodities

• Experience leading teams, projects and portfolios

• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills

• An established professional network within the private sector

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Willingness to travel across the region

It would be an advantage if you also have:

➕ Experience improving sustainable supply chains or financing mechanisms

➕ Practical field experience in agriculture, forestry or landscape programmes

➕ Additional language skills, including Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin or Thai
