PUR is recruiting for Project Manager based in Indonesia, and looking for an autonomous, an impact-driven individuals, a team player, dynamic to coordinate and implement agroforestry and land restoration projects.

As a key member of the Project team, you will report to the Country Manager in Indonesia and be in charge of will be responsible for designing, implementing, following-up and monitoring the activities in the Indonesia (ex: agroforestry and mangrove).

Your missions will be to support the development, coordination, management and monitoring of ecosystem restoration, agroforestry and regenerative agriculture initiatives or with agricultural communities on behalf of PUR's new and existing clients; for the purpose of restoring ecosystem services and supporting sustainable livelihoods such as, but not limited to:

A. Project management: 

  • Build and manage the project’s quantitative & qualitative targets and the chronogram to meet them
  • Establish a quality control plan: ensure regular contract verification from the desk and in the field according to the continuous verification protocols
  • Review and validate project deliverables before the payment of invoices, and transfer payment orders to the Accounting team
  • Lead the Adaptive Management process by leveraging data analysis and feedback from internal & external stakeholders (clients, partners, farmers). Be ready to challenge and adjust the project design annually using your technical expertise and your operational experience, to enhance the project’s permanence.
  • Create and manage budgets & reforecasts to enable informed decision-making and keep control on costs.

B. INTERNAL COORDINATION & REPORTING:

  • Ensure that the project data is validated in time and that qualitative reports are available to enable the timely reporting to internal & external stakeholders

  • Coordinate the Project team and other PUR teams (Data, KAMs, Carbon, Specialists, Controlling, etc.) to ensure the successful roll-out of the project

  • Provide feedback to managers, team members and other colleagues to improve proceedings and enhance collaboration

C. STAKEHOLDERS MANAGEMENT

  • Audit and update due diligence information on partners (incl. KYS) on a yearly basis
  • Lead the negotiation of contracts signed with the implementing partners, with the support and review of the Legal team
  • Organize regular meetings with the partners, leveraging data analysis and insights, to co-build adaptive management plans and enable agile decision-making
  • Train the implementing partners’ teams on PUR methodologies, and provide timely feedback to implementing partners to improve project proceedings
  • Organize consultation and information-sharing events with local stakeholders (incl. FPIC process)

D. STAKEHOLDERS MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate with HR on the onboarding, training, promotions and annual reviews of own staff (if any), to guarantee smart objectives and personal development
  • Accountable for own team’s use of the company tools (ex. Timesheets, ERP, etc.), providing guidance and validating timesheets, expense reports, letters of mission, etc.
  • Resource allocation and management, including anticipation of potential additional recruitments to own projects
  • Use own expertise to provide feedback for tool improvement

Profile

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Bachelor or higher education in Agriculture, Agronomy, Botany, Agroforestry, Natural Resource Management or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in sustainable agriculture and community project implementation.

  • Solid knowledge of trees and plant species, capacity to identify indicators of seedling quality and resolve seedling quality issues

  • Knowledge of carbon certification requirements for afforestation/reforestation projects is a strong asset.

  • Proven track of Leadership, able to build trust with a variety of stakeholders (farmers, nurseries, cooperatives, PUR teams)

  • Adaptive management skills, able to make decisions based on project and data insights

  • Proven attention to detail, ability to work independently, and self-driven in completing tasks

  • Reporting & data management skills including create the plan and organizational skills

  • Proven communication skills including interpersonal and written
