Key Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder Engagement
• Support development and implementation of the project’s community engagement strategy in line with social safeguards and requirements under relevant standards such as Premium T-VER and CCB.
• Ensure free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC) and culturally appropriate participatory processes with all impacted and benefitting communities in order to establish and maintain the project’s long-term social license to operate.
• Design and facilitate inclusive forums, participatory planning events, and regular community meetings to co-design project activities, monitoring efforts, benefit sharing arrangements, and grievance mechanisms in collaboration with community representatives.
2. Benefit Sharing & Social Impact
• Support the design and implementation of fair and transparent benefit sharing mechanisms (Village and Landscape Funds), that equitably distribute carbon project incentives, livelihood enhancements, and social support opportunities.
• Help establish governance and financing structures (e.g., community development committees, village development funds) with clearly defined roles, safeguards, and dispute resolution processes.
• Help monitor and document social outcomes and impacts, including livelihood improvements, food security, access to resources, and gender and vulnerable group inclusion.
3. Monitoring & Capacity Building
• Support the design and integration of community-led monitoring systems that complement formal MRV protocols for water, carbon, biodiversity, and socio-economic indicators required by relevant standards such as Premium T-VER and CCB, ensuring quality and cultural relevance.
• Oversee training and mentorship for Community Engagement Officers and community volunteers on community engagement/FPIC, data collection methods, digital tools, communications, ethics, and safety.
• Coordinate with the project technical and monitoring teams to harmonise communitygenerated data with MRV datasets.
4. Leadership & Team Management
• Help manage and support a diverse team of Community Engagement Officers, field facilitators, and volunteers.
• Represent the community engagement function in regular project coordination meetings and decision-making forums, helping to bring community voices and perspectives to project design and planning.
5. Reporting
• Support preparation of monthly and quarterly reports on community engagement outcomes, participation rates, benefit distribution, local impact reporting, and capacitybuilding results.
• Help ensure documentation and evidence meet requirements for relevant standards such as Premium T-VER validation/verification and CCB public disclosure.
• Support external assessments, verification audits, and stakeholder visits by preparing community narratives, evidence packages, and lessons learned.
