Room to Read | Remote but must live in Hong Kong

This role is best suited for early-career fundraising or partnerships professionals looking to grow into a development career.

Room to Read is seeking an Associate, Global Strategic Partnerships to support corporate and foundation fundraising efforts within the Development & Communications team.

This Associate-level role (3–5 years experience) focuses on identifying funding opportunities, coordinating proposals, supporting donor engagement, and maintaining a strong pipeline of corporate and foundation prospects.

The position works closely with the Director, Strategic Partnerships and collaborates with program, finance, and operations teams across the organization.

What You’ll Do

Corporate & Foundation Fundraising Support

  • Support engagement with corporate and foundation partners through regular communications and stewardship activities
  • Manage selected donor relationships and support partnership renewals and extensions
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to expand existing partnerships.

Pipeline Development & Prospecting

  • Research and track new corporate, foundation, prize, and institutional funding opportunities
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective partners and funding opportunities
  • Support internal pipeline reviews and opportunity tracking

Proposal & RFP Coordination

  • Coordinate development of concept notes, letters of inquiry, proposals, presentations, and donor reports
  • Draft and edit donor-facing materials
  • Coordinate inputs from program, finance, and operations teams to ensure timely submissions

Systems & Internal Coordination

  • Maintain donor and opportunity records in Salesforce
  • Track proposal timelines and follow-up actions
  • Support handover of funded projects from proposal stage to program implementation

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 6–12 months you will:

  • Maintain a well-organized pipeline of corporate and foundation prospects
  • Successfully coordinate proposals and funding submissions with internal teams
  • Build strong working relationships with program and operations colleagues
  • Support donor engagement and stewardship activities that strengthen partnerships

Profile

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, nonprofit development, or client relationship management
  • Experience contributing to or supporting partnerships or grants in the $50K–$100K+ range
  • Experience coordinating proposals or donor reports
  • Full professional proficiency in written and verbal in English
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience using Salesforce or another CRM

Salary Range

HKD 353,430 – HKD 397,789 annually, depending on experience.
