Description of the mission

Position Summary

The GEDSI Advisor provides technical leadership and expertise to advance gender equality, disability inclusion and broader social inclusion across Save the Children Cambodia’s programming. The role ensures that GEDSI principles are systematically integrated into programme design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.

The Advisor will work closely with programme teams, partners and stakeholders to strengthen inclusive approaches, build staff capacity, and promote evidence-based practices that address barriers faced by marginalized groups, including girls, children with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations.

The role also supports advocacy and influencing efforts to promote inclusive policies and practices at national and sub-national levels, ensuring alignment with Save the Children’s global priorities and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on GEDSI across all programmes and projects.
  • Ensure integration of gender equality, disability and social inclusion in programme design, implementation, and MEAL frameworks.
  • Conduct gender and inclusion analyses to inform programme strategies and interventions.
  • Develop tools, guidelines, and resources to support GEDSI mainstreaming.
  • Build capacity of staff and partners through training, mentoring, and coaching on GEDSI approaches.
  • Support development of proposals and concept notes with strong GEDSI integration.
  • Monitor and evaluate GEDSI outcomes and contribute to learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Strengthen accountability mechanisms to ensure inclusion of marginalized groups.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote inclusive programming.
  • Support advocacy initiatives and policy engagement related to gender equality and social inclusion.
  • Ensure compliance with Save the Children policies, including safeguarding and child protection.

Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Several years of relevant experience in gender equality, disability inclusion, or social inclusion programming.
  • Experience working with NGOs or international organizations is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion frameworks.
  • Experience in integrating GEDSI into programme cycles (design, implementation, MEAL).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles.

General Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
